Vans Washed Checker Slip On Black White China debuted last night

ide, the shows are free, and the video quality is purported to be better than on iTunes. But looks good and it s free doesn t sound quite so visionary. Is it good enough for you? Latest from our Partners  Parent Claims Anne Frank Is Too Pornographic For School  The Huffington PostSPOILER ALERT: This post reveals who was voted off last night s Survivor: China. Also, the Ken Burns posts reveal who won WWII. Monty Brinton/CBSWe interrupt Ken Burns Day at Tuned In to prove that we re not all about lofty matters historical here. Survivor: China debuted last night, and while I can never judge the quality of any given Survivor season until a few episodes in,Vans Washed Checker Slip On Black White, I was glad to see the show switch things up with an inland adventure for the first time, if I m not forgetting anything, since Amazon. All those beaches and freaking coconut trees start to look the same after a while.Otherwise, it was a largely typical first episode: you had the mandatory first episode puke,Vans X Spitfire DDSPAWN Deepgrey, the standard fights over building the shelter and the usual dilemma over whether to vote off the bossy woman or the cranky old man first. (It was the latter, the aptly named chicken farmer and Robin Williams lookalike Chicken, who had his neck wrung.) And the obligatory nods to the indigenous culture (the survivors received copies of The Art of War, which, Jeff Probst informed them, was written by the Chinese. )What always amazes me about any cast of Survivor, however, is how it testifies to the bizarre breadth of the American economy. I mean, you can make a living doing damn near anything in this country. There was the professional poker player. The Christian radio host. (Who described herself,Vans Skull Slip On Beige, nonetheless, as not a religious person, yet walked out of a Buddhist welcoming ceremony.) The lunch lady. The surfing instructor. The chicken farmer. The gravedigger. The parkour runner (OK, he s a college student now,Vans Sk8 Hi Skull Black, but give him some time). And, in a how-could-they-not-have-already-done-this bit of casting, a professional wrestling diva, who has inverted the natural order of the universe by posing for Playboy before appearing on Survivor. All this, appropriately enough, displayed on the home soil of one of the U.S. s greatest economic partners and competitors. You can outsource poison toy manufacturing but you can t outsource reality-TV humiliation! Made in America, baby! Latest from our Partners  Parent Claims Anne Frank Is Too Pornographic For School  The Huffington PostI made it over to a press luncheon yesterday for Henri Loyrette, the director of the Louvre, who was in New York to talk about his museum s expansion projects in France and the U.S. (Abu Dhabi he wasn t talking about much.) Those projects include the ongoing arrangement with the Atlanta High Museum. What the High is getting principally is a series of loan shows from Paris that will extend into 2009. For the first of them last fall the centerpieces were two landmarks of Western painting, Raphael s Portrait of Baldassare Castiglione and Poussin s Et in Arcadia Ego. The next one, which opens October 16, is built around Egyptian, Greek and Roman objects including a first century Roman marble, The Tiber, a ten-foot long representation of a river god. What the Louvre got in return from the High was a fee of 5.5 million euros for the restoration of its 18th century French decorative arts galleries. (Hope the High paid it all before this happened.) The Louvre, which was once almost entirely state supported, now raises about 40% of its revenue from private sources, including ticket revenues and sponsorships. This kind of loan-for-fee exhibition arrangement is fine to the extent that it brings important works to museums with shallow holdings in antiquities or the Old Masters. But as they become more common they open the way to a world in which museums routinely treat their collections as revenue opportunities, to be shuttled around even more furiously than they already are. The path to hell is paved with Guggenheim outposts and Boston MFA deals with Vegas casino galleries. So what the Louvre also got from the High deal wa
